PROJECTS ON IMPROVING PROTECTION OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

As part of the EU Financial perspective 2007–2013, the Republic of Slovenia is entitled to disbursement of funds under Heading 3a – Freedom, security and justice, in 3 areas and general programmes. The Security and protection of freedoms programme (745 million EUR) and the Fundamental rights and justice programme (542.90 million EUR) fall within the category of centralized management, allowing member states to participate in tenders of the European Commission, which subsequently approves individual project proposals (e.g. ISEC and CIPS projects). According to the new financial perspective 2014–2020 (Horizon 2020), the Republic of Slovenia will be eligible for funds in the area of internal affairs under Heading 3 – Freedom, security and justice.
